"Don't Go Away" is a tight, heavy number the wholly belongs to the killer early 70s school of funk -- a modern jam that exudes all the dust and grit of a long buried 45 -- with heavy drums, horns, rave up guitar and funky flute.

Lucky Brown is the name of an archetype developed by composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Joel Ricci. Assisted by The Funk Revolution, Ricci's project conjures a funk symbol from the past to present earthy human concepts.

The struggle Lucky Brown faces to reconcile life in a brutal, materialistic world with his spiritual potential mirrors mankind's universal experience. Lucky Brown is Ricci's medium to explore and comment on the heart's vacillation between love and fear, while using rhythm and harmony to project a vision of hope for the future.

"Don't Go Away" was recorded live to analog tape in the fall of 2007 at Chez Jojo, Ricci's tiny dwelling in Bellingham Washington USA. This version is an unreleased alternate mix of Lucky Brown's debut single for Germany's Tramp Records.
